WELCOME TO YEAR 3!
The teachers in Year 3 are Mr Lawrence, Miss West and Mrs Chudasama.
Our wonderful teaching and learning assistants are Miss Bensley, Mrs Robinson and Mrs Stone.
In the Autumn term, we will learn all about The Romans and Vesuvius's eruption in 79AD.
We will be studying Escape from Pompeii and a number of books from The Roman Mysteries series.
On Thursday 24th October, we hope to perform a Roman play to friends and family. Keep an eye out for updates in connection with the performance. On the 14th October, we have also planned an exciting trip to The Fishbourne Roman Palace where we will be taking part in a number of workshops and learning all about Roman life in Fishbourne 2000 years ago.

In the first half of the Spring term, we will voyage across the seven seas to learn more about the life of a pirate.
Through stories, facts and play we will discover what pirates did and how they lived, built their gruesome reputations and died!
We are very excited to have a visit from the History Man who will be visiting us to host our fun-filled pirate day! The children will get a chance to dress up, see some exciting pirate artefacts, play pirate games and even watch a real Musket being fired!
During the Summer Term, we will be exploring the theme of 'facing your fears' through exciting stories.
One of our focus texts will be Jaqueline Wilson's Cliffhanger and we are hoping that the weather will be nice enough to allow for a visit to our beautiful Bognor beach.
We will be ending the year with a bang as we delve into the world of Stig of The Dump. To get a hands-on experience of what life might have been like for Stig, we will be spending a fantastic day at Seeley Copse Woods where the children can have a go at fire making, den building and maybe even try some toasted marshmallows!
Throughout the Autumn Term, the children will need their PE kits on a Tuesday and Thursday.
Swimming lessons will start in Spring term 2 and will be on a Tuesday afternoon.
All the children have tri-weekly spelling sheets and school reading books and we would like to thank you in advance for the support you are giving your child at home in completing these.
There will also be exciting home learning activities relating to our class text for your child to complete every half term. These will be sent home in their home learning books.
We hope your child enjoys being in Year 3. If you require any further information or have any questions do not hesitate to contact us at the end of the day or by making an appointment via the main school office.
